Black Box represents an understated elegance which features a strong emphasis on natural and raw building materials. The ideology behind the design was to create a series of zones which would later translate into the form of the building with the ability to support a busy family life through strategic spatial planning to provide a series of zones, each with a particular use. The zones would encompass an entertainment area, family area, bedroom sanctuary and a guest retreat. These zones become quite evident in the architectural form an exterior language when viewed from the public domain. The use of natural and raw materials was critical, providing not only a rich colour & material palette, but also minimal processing of each.
